 About Your Stay

Montemar are the first luxury, sustainable villas in the Galapagos Islands, owned and run by a local family who provide an authentic, transformative and personalized experience in a safe, exclusive and natural environment with the minimum environmental impact.

Located in the natural habitat of the iconic Galapagos giant tortoises, Montemar consists of two beautifully appointed villas with a total capacity of 12 guests on a 43-acre property, offering privacy and plenty of opportunities to connect with nature and wildlife.

Guests at Montemar receive personalized attention from the owners, who create unique and meaningful experiences on the Galapagos, employing their knowledge, experience and passion for the islands. Each trip is carefully planned, combining exploration of the islands in search of wildlife colonies, interaction with the local community and time to relax and enjoy it all at your own pace.

Montemar is at the forefront of sustainability on the Galapagos: green energy, harvested water, sustainable architecture. It has its own biodynamic, organic garden which produces most of what is consumed at the guests’ tables, including Montemar’s own organic coffee. Montemar is a zero single-use plastic property and all its amenities are biodegradable.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Deposit

In order to confirm and hold your booking, you will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit of 10% towards the total price of your trip, to be received within seven days of your confirmation.

If you’re traveling during peak season (Easter, Christmas and New Year), the required deposit is 20%.

Final Payment

Payment of the balance is due 45 days prior to your arrival date, except in peak travel season.

During peak season (Easter, Christmas and New Year), the balance payment is required 60 days prior to your arrival date.

If you need to cancel

All cancellations should be in writing and will result in the loss of the deposit.

If the balance payment is not received on or before the due date, we reserve the right to treat your booking as canceled.

No refunds are available if the cancellation occurs within 45 days (or 60 days during peak season) of your arrival date.

We recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellations, medical expenses, personal baggage and money before you travel.

Force Majeure Cancellation

Montemar reserves the right to cancel any trip at any time if, due to natural disaster, political instability or other disruptions and/or events beyond our control (force majeure events), the operation of the trip would be unsafe or otherwise unviable. In the event that a trip is canceled due to a force majeure event, the client will receive a total credit equal to the monies paid to Montemar minus any costs incurred by the owner which are not recoverable.

Your Details

For us to confirm your booking, we need to receive certain personal information which includes:

full name (as it appears on your passport), passport number, date of birth, dietary requests/restrictions, any medical conditions, injuries or physical limitations you want us to know about and/or which may affect your ability to fully participate in some aspects of the trip.

Respect for Privacy

Montemar recognizes the importance and respects the privacy of guests. All of the personal information that we collect, such as dietary restrictions and tour preferences, is used exclusively by our staff to ensure the excellence of our personalized services.
